What to expect from your newborn photography experience
At Lucy Shaw Photography, it isn’t just about the amazing photos, but the complete experience you receive for you and baby. Let me take you through your newborn photography journey…
Preparing for the photoshoot
It’s not uncommon for a newborn session to last 2-4 hours, allowing time to feed and comfort. You’ll only need to bring with you your usual nappy changing bag essentials and some extra milk if you’re bottle feeding.
During the photoshoot
We call this the “sleepy baby” photoshoot, we’ll have fun picking out the perfect props to include in your images. We have a wonderful setting for you to sit back and relax whilst the magic takes place! After all, you deserve a break – or, of course be as involved as you wish, family and sibling poses can be included!
Following the photoshoot
You’ll be invited back to the studio for a viewing appointment (usually a week later) where you will be able to see all your edited and airbrushed images and we can discuss how you’d like to display them in your home. Following the viewing, your images can also be uploaded to a secure online viewing gallery so that your family are able to view and order any images directly. There is no obligation to buy a minimum number of prints or images.
Booking your newborn photoshoot
Sessions book up really quickly and it is recommended that you get in touch early on in your pregnancy so a spot can be pencilled in for your due date (it’s best to book your photoshoot after your 20 week scan).
A £50 deposit is taken to secure a space in the diary, this covers your session fee. Once baby arrives, please contact me and we can schedule a time within the first two weeks – sessions are best when baby is just 6-14 days old to achieve those beautiful sleepy poses!
